born and raised by a navy seal for a father, i was certainly accustomed to wearing military-esque apparel, particularly during a typical tomboy phase in elementary school (and yes one halloween i did dress in full camo, face paint absolutely included). so, needless to say, when i spotted this utility jacket with faux leather sleeves, i knew it belonged in my closet. i have a crush on cargo pockets, army green and cinched waists, what can i say? but to keep this staple piece spring, i paired it with a feminine, sheer, cream dress--im obsessed with the polka dotted texture and golden neckline. the strappy nude heels are a must (especially for only $40 at the nordstrom rack) to keep this look effortless and simple, while the jewelry adds a hint of edge and a touch of sparkle.
how do you wear combat-like clothing?
jacket ($40 forever 21)
dress-other ($48 francescas)
heels ($80 shoe mall)
necklace-other ($7 forever 21)
earrings-other ($5 forever 21)
p.s. thank you to my practically twin sister emily of emily magers photography for making even the simplest of styles seems tantalizing and trendy with just one click of her finger. you are fabulous. you are to me what steve madden heels are to closets: forever needed.
