ive always had a thing for the paranormal. theres something so intriguing about the idea of there being "the other side" and the opportunity to communicate and complete unfinished business after passing on. yes i had a ouija board as a kid (and i may or may not have moved it on purpose). when i found this almost aubergine (eggplant-ish brown with a hint of purple) color coat i had a suede sense if you will. it was calling to me, i felt it pulling at my being (and my wallet). in a showroom packed with items at the la sample sales this was my first purchase of the day and my only buy at that specific store. amidst all other pieces it was love at first sight. and for only $50. for real suede. yeah, i know. i wish we got a picture of the inside because thats what truly sold me. its a simple sketch of a flying bird against a detailed floral backdrop and says "one day im going to grow wings and fly away." so dreamy and freeing and inspirational. i decided i wanted the jacket to be the star of the post (it kind of demands that doesnt it?) so i paired it with neutrals: caramel heels, a cream lace-embellished t and cut offs. whats not to love about an effortless ensemble?
